Questions & Answers about Energy Management
How does FM determine whether a specific investment in energy-saving technology, equipment or management practice is cost-effective? |
Project proposals go through a thorough payback analysis based on energy management industry standards. The base line criteria for approving investments is that the energy costs projected to be saved should be sufficient to payback the projects labor and material costs within five years. |

Will saving energy in my building result in reduced thermal comfort levels? |
No. FM staff will not reduce comfort levels to save energy. In buildings where we have completed energy analyses and have upgraded controls or equipment, comfort has generally improved, or at the very least remained unchanged. |
