The University is interested in learning what you think about the U as an employer. On April 7, everyone will receive an e-mail invitation with instructions on how to complete the 2008 Pulse survey. Please take 20 to 30 minutes to fill it out. Responses are confidential and impact University priorities.
A couple examples include healthcare and new employee orientation. The Pulse survey is done every other year, and based on the 2004 and 2006 results the U made sure to maintain many healthcare plan choices and updated the new employee orientation process.
In order to hear from as many people as possible, the U has authorized employees to use work time to fill out the survey. Please talk with your supervisor about finding the best times to schedule this time. For those employees who do not have computer access, computer labs or other arrangements will be made. This includes help with X-500 passwords.
Make your voice heard - take the survey by April 25!
Great Performance: Yosief Manna, Samuel Mengistu and Rameto Deko - Health Sciences District B&G Workers
One thing FM has always excelled at is our emergency response. Floods and fires seem to bring out our best. They focus our attention and demand immediate results. While it will never be as dramatic, it is very important to consistently bring our daily performance up to that same bar across campus. I want to share this customer note with you. Here’s an example of how Yosief, Samuel and Rameto responded to an emergency. Notice how our customer also points out the strong daily performance. Thank you Mr. Manna, Mr. Mengistu and Mr. Deko!
“I wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your custodial crew and the actions they took when we had the accidental flood in our lab last week.
I understand it was Sammy who actually noticed the water first, but I know that several people worked very hard and very late that night to abate the situation. It is really nice to know that we have such dedicated people on our team here in 717! Please let them all know that we thank them for everything, not only for keeping us from floating away that night, but in the day-to-day operations they perform for us that make our work days go smoothly.”
Thanks for the great work!
Mike
