Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Beautiful U Day was a bright spot despite the gray sky. I enjoyed seeing many of you as President Bruininks kicked things off in our Como operations area, getting a chance to run a jack-hammer on the West Bank and then handing out some of the 10,000 compact florescent light bulbs at lunch on the Mall. Those bulbs will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1,028,549 pounds each year.
The day culminated with our custodial awards ceremony. Kudos goes to Marshall Skule and crew for producing and emceeing the special version of FM Jeopardy. We honored custodial service through three awards this year, Beautiful Classroom, Beautiful Building and Gold Standard.
