The 2008 FM All-Employee Picnic will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Como Park. All employees and their spouses/domestic partners and children are invited to this event. A flyer regarding the event has been posted on communications boards.

The Picnic will be held at the beautiful Midway Pavilion just outside Como Park Zoo and Conservatory and will include a catered, pork-free BBQ (burgers, veggie burgers, chicken, and hot dogs), Prizes, Giveaways and free access to the Como Park Zoo, Conservatory and Como Town Amusement Park.  Inflatable amusements will be available from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and food will be served from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Public parking is available and the park is accessible by public transit. We will send out a fact sheet prior to the picnic detailing where parking is available and which bus routes serve the picnic grounds.

Welcome aboard

Julie Carufel has joined Human Resources and comes to us from Securian Financial Services where she worked as a Human Resources Manager for more than ten years. As Securian’s Employee Relations Manager, Julie provided HR leadership and direction to the company’s 2,500 employees.  Her expertise includes employee relations, creating strategies focused on proactive employee problem prevention; staffing, creating and implementing a corporate wide diversity strategy, performance management, as well as training and development.  Julie’s contact information is carufel@umn.edu  Phone: (612) 626-0326, she is located on third floor, Donhowe Building.

Kathleen Krueger was introduced to the U when she supported CPPM with administrative support on a temporary basis. She has been hired as a Human Resources Assistant.
