Vice President O’Brien and I enjoyed getting a chance to see you during our All FM meetings. Many of you have pointed out communication is difficult in an organization of 1,200 folks – these meetings are a good way to hear what you are thinking about, what’s working and what needs fixing. Thank you for your questions, suggestions and observations. While we will not be able to tackle everything at once, please keep your ideas coming.
Here’s what we are going to be focusing on over the next 12 months:
- Making the team structure work
- Working smarter
- Focusing on performance
- Completing muster rooms
- Developing training & development program
- Creating labor/management committees
- Developing Service Level Agreements with each college
Great Performance - Marty Milanese, Mech 2, East Bank District
Part of our transformation effort has to become a more customer-focused organization. Marty is demonstrating that on a daily basis. Here’s what one customer had to say:
“I just wanted to send a note to let you know how helpful Marty Milanese has been. I am working in a very cold office environment and he came to try and fix the situation. Most of our windows were unlatched – which was causing a problem for everyone. But since his initial visit, he has come back several times to check on the situation to see if there is more he can do to improve our working environment. I know he said that you and another individual came by today to check on how our building is set up and to consider different options that might improve the warmth.
I am impressed with Marty’s dedication to trying to make a difference for us in room 204 and his follow-up has been very much appreciated. I just thought you should know.”
Thank you Mr. Milanse!
