Team Managers are key leaders in our new organization structure. Our
Team Managers (formerly know as Team Leads) will be responsible for
overseeing all the services FM provides in their team’s one million
square foot area. They will act as a single point of contact for our
customers day-to-day needs. Our customers are excited because they will
only need to know one name and phone number to get their work done.
Hiring for these positions has been quite a process. Originally we
thought 19 would be necessary but we have revised that to 18. To date we
have received 92 applications, interviewed 41 candidates, had 16 offers
accepted and we are actively recruiting to fill the remaining two
positions. Those who were interviewed also completed a leadership
assessment, similar process used for the District Director and Associate
Director positions.
In building our teams we have looked to create a diverse mix of skill
sets, institutional knowledge and new ideas. Those Team Managers who are
currently FM employees will stay in their present role until the rest of
the district positions are hired however, our District Directors will be
working with each other to provide time in the new districts.
Please join me in congratulating our Team Managers!

November = Benefits Enrollment
Need help?
Nov. 28, 29, 30
7:00 a.m. – 5:00p.m.
Rm 315 Donhowe
Open Enrollment for employee benefits is taking place during the month
of November 2007. If you do not have any changes to your current plan
you do not have to take any action. However, if you wish to do so, any
changes to medical and dental plans, dependent coverage, long term
disability insurance or enrollment in the flexible spending accounts
must be made by midnight on November 30, 2007 in order to be effective
on January 1, 2008.
To support employees in the Open Enrollment process, several Computer
Lab Sessions are being held on November 28, 29 and 30, 2007, from 7:00
a.m. – 5:00 p.m., in room 315 of the Donhowe Building. Employee Benefits
staff will be available to answer questions and to provide assistance
with online enrollment, including helping employees to access their
University Internet login and password. We encourage employees to attend
these sessions, and ask managers and supervisors to allow their staff
the time to do so. For additional information, contact Employee Benefits
at 612-624-9090 or visit http://www1.umn.edu/ohr/benefits/openenroll/index.html.
Keep up the good work.
