Our CPPM partners hosted a Kaizen Blitz (business speak for a focused effort to significantly improve how we do something) last week which focused on improving the CPPM project initiation process. Under the old process our customers would sometimes have to wait two weeks before getting a confirmation on their request. We’re going to shorten that to 24 hours by streamlining the process and utilizing the FM call center to process the initial request.
Customers will be instructed to e-mail completed CPR (Client Project Request) forms to the call center. The call center will scan the request, assign it a project number, forward the request to CPPM and reply to the customer with their new project number. This process will allow us to close the loop with our customers much faster and get projects into the cue within days instead of weeks.
Community Fund Drive Update
FM is blessed with a great number of caring and creative people. We’ll be featuring their efforts to raise funds and awareness for the Community Fund Drive. I think the folks on the West Bank are emphasizing Fun & Drive part.
Wheels of Fire – Hot Wheels Race
2:00 PM Oct 18 – Wilson Basement Level – Contact Curt Stone for more details (stone021@umn.edu). Participants will sponsor a car as a donation to the fund drive ($5) and then race head-to-head down Wilson Highway with death defying "Leap of Doom" at finish line. Fabulous prizes await winner of single elimination and longest run.
Curt wanted you to know, “…these Hot Wheel vehicles will be attaining speeds unheard of anywhere else but Bonneville or BIR. Since parachutes are prohibited we'll have a fire crew below for rescue and recovery efforts following the Leap of Doom (the expansion joint/finish line). Pit stops for fresh tires are also prohibited, so high-speed blowouts could provide an extra element of danger and suspense. The track will keep cars in a relatively straight-line run. However ladies and gentlemen, there will be no restraints between these high powered vehicles as the owners vie for glory! These horsepower crazy enthusiasts will be flying down a vinyl composition tile track engaged in Ben-hur style wheel-busting thrills and spills, leaving long trails of smoldering rubber and twisted sheet metal! Of course, we'll have a valid hot works permit on-site.”
