During the last several weeks I have had a chance to talk with many of you regarding our Pillar Projects. Besides talking to FM staff, I’ve given the same presentation to the Dean’s Council, RRC managers, BRIDGE group and the Subcommittee on Twin Cities Facilities and Support Services.
A number of FM staff has asked about a suggestion box to collect ideas for dealing with FM’s budget concern. Rather than an actual box, we have put a comment form on our newly redesigned web page.
http://www.facm.umn.edu/comments/
It is on the left-hand navigational bar under employee services. You can submit comment anonymously or include your name, though comments without name or contact information do not allow us to follow-up with additional questions. The comments will be reviewed by FM’s leadership team. Unlike our old web comment form, we will not be posting comments.
Great Performance: Kim Clauson and Allen Pearson, B&G Workers, St. Paul District
The Vet Med center is a tough place to keep clean. As any of you with pets at home know, animals mean hair, spills and stains. With Vet Med, you also add that fact that they’re sick and there are a large numbers of animals and you’ve got a big mess. Here’s what a customer said about Kim and Al.
“I have worked @ the Vet Med.Ctr. (St.Paul campus) for 22+ years. I just wanted to send you a note regarding 2 employees who have been @ the VMC for a short time as cleaning persons and are definitely making a difference. They are Kim and Al. Both of these persons are noticeably working efficiently and have taken on the task of making this a better place to visit or work in. In fact, the best I've seen before historically. They both are consistently working hard to make this place a cleaner, more efficient place.”
Our customer goes on to note how nice both the bathrooms and the main entrance look thanks to Kim and Al’s efforts. These comments point out how important the public spaces are that we clean. One of our suggestions for the University to consider is to place a greater emphasis on these kinds of spaces. Thank you Ms. Clauson and Mr. Pearson for your efforts!
Keep up the good work.
Mike
