As I see FM folks while I’m out on campus a number of people have asked me where to submit their ideas for saving money. There are two ways to share your thoughts. The first is with your supervisor and the second is on FM’s webpage www.facm.umn.edu. Just go to the left-hand side of the page and find “Comments” under the “Employee Services” section.
This month we’ve also started a new monthly program. We know it’s difficult to have much of a discussion in large group settings. Often times people have a hard time hearing, while others don’t like to speak in front of a large group. This week I met with a small group of front-line workers from the St. Paul District to thank them for their efforts, answer questions and listen to their ideas. It went well as folks got to ask more than one question and offer their opinions.
During these unsettling times, I will make every effort to share information with you as quickly as possible. We will learn about the Governor’s budget in late January and the State will have another budget forecast in early March. Both of these will impact the University’s and FM’s course for the next two years.
Great Performance – Nick Rossow, Painter – Health Sciences District
What makes our customer’s happy? Prompt service with an eye towards accommodating their needs. Nick had set up to paint an office when the customer came back to retrieve some files –several times. Instead of acting put out or making her feel bad, Nick readily adjusted his work space to allow the customer access. Here’s what she said:
“I would also like to let you know Nick was awesome, a few times I just had to get into my office and he was great about moving stuff so I could get into areas where my files were. I could not believe he moved everything and never got paint on tables, carpet or anyplace it did not belong.”
Great customer service and paying attention to details have definitely earned Nick a good reputation with Health Science clients. Thank you Mr. Rossow!
Keep up the good work.
Mike
